Competition and training natatorium is the topic of the paper. Guided by the sustainable development theory, the paper comprehensively analysises the characteristics of natatorium and various energy-saving technologies, explores and researches energy-saving strategy for natatorium, so we can provide guidance and constructive comments for the new energy-efficient design and alterations of natatorium.Natatorium as an important type of sports architecture is one combination of the architecture, sports technology, urban landscape, ecological science, engineering, economics and other disciplines, and is the most complex sports facilities. Competition and training natatorium is characterized by: large span, high altitude, large space, complex process, indoor constant temperature and humidity requirements, so the form of energy consumption is different from the other civil building.Because of the characts, natatorium has a large energy conservation space. There are two ways to reduce the energy consumption of natatorium: one is to improve the energy efficiency of the system, with limited resources and minimal cost of energy consumption to achieve maximum economic and social benefits, to meet the growing demand; the other is through the development of renewable energy and energy-saving building materials, to reduce building energy consumption. Renewable energy will play an important role in the future.the article analyzes the characteristics and energy consumption of swimming pool building baced on Chongqing Jiangnan natatorium, and study the energy conservation strategy mainly from the architectural design and envelope design, involves HVAC, renewable energy applications, save water and other related energy-saving technologies, then systemly analysis the current swimming pool building energy saving technology strategy, finally through the actual construction project " Sichuan Xinjin Water Sports School natatorium " design practices, construct the theoretical system of energy-saving design, and verify the operability of the current natatorium energy-saving design .The design of natatorium energy-saving is a comprehensive issue, involving pre-planning, architectural design, structural, HVAC. etc. And the design requires designers to take full account in the design process, work closely with each other, and design integrated. The use of science and technology to save energy, optimizing energy structure, development and utilization of renewable energy is a precondition to improve energy efficiency, to ensure our long-term energy supply and demand balance, and a prerequisite for reducing environmental pollution, and the effective measures to achieve rapid economic growth.
