Research On Waterscape Design In The Residential Areas In Deyang City

With the construction of living enviroment, the landscape design is being paid to more attention. In recent years, a waterscape, as an important part of residential areas'overall landscape, is concerned with the developers, designers, property management and the residents in the areas, waterscape's design, use and maintenance. It also becomes one of the important standards that evaluate the general residential landscape. Based on the previous reasearch fingdings, the paper addresses the issues in relation to the design, use and maintenece of the present residential areas'waterscapes. To that end, while seeking truth from the facts, the paper employs the design information at home and abroad and applies the research methods such as literature review, field work and comprehensive analysis.The paper begins with the analysis of historical reforms of the waterscape in residential areas. Then it elaborates the basic theory, design elements and techniques of water landscape design. The paper comes up with the scheme that the principles of waterscape design should include humanization, practicality, ecological concern and participation as well as sustainable construction. In the end, among all the main residential areas developed in the last seven years in Deyang, the field work has been conducted in the of waterscapes in such four classical riverside residential areas including Repulse Bay Rongchuang, Central South Luneng, Wanxing Charm City 1st, and Water Town 1st. The different design methods of waterscape components---pool, stones revetment, aquatic plants and other small items---and the related matters are discussed in their respective categories. It analyses the relations between the building's external spatial formation and the waterscape design, and the role of waterscape in the external space. A desirable waterscape should be bulit to match the different constucture layout. The improvements concerned are put forward in line with the problems of the design, maintenance and management, mainly involving rigid plagiarism, lack of artistic conception, inappropriate location of functional areas, the materials inappropriately used, the Water source improperly selected. Trying to serve as the reference for the waterscape construction in the city residential areas, it exploratorily proposes the design methods in terms of the local characteristics, fabrication of artistic conception, harmonization, opening space and privacy protection, scale of water, application of materials, Intensive and save water.
