This thesis introduces the climate impact on Foshan city local architecture. Based on the city scale theory, the essay investigate the revolution of Foshan city urban space from Last Qing dynasty to the period of Republic of China, it also analyses the municipal construction difference caused by shift of administrative levels in different periods of Foshan city. Further on the essay deeply deliberates the features of street layout of Foshan city in early period of Republic of China in comparison of Guangzhou city at the same time. The essay studies the pavement methods, construction methods, usage and measurement of streets of the city in that period, as well as the features of construction type, structure of block and type of facade of buildings along the street. For the example of the best preserved and representative storefront typed architecture of FengNing street, the essay abstracts the importance of this local featured storefront in history. At the final part of the essay, it probes into the multi values of storefront in today's city development and prospects to the observation and reuse of storefront in the future.
