With the rapid development of economy, traffic jam becomes more and more serious.A comprehensive passenger transportation system with all kinds of traffic modes mutual coordination, using rail traffic as frame work is established to develop pubic. Operation coordination for Urban Rail and Bus System can make passenger travel more continuously and more smoothly, which will enhance the efficiency and attractiveness of public transport system.Firstly, this thesis reviews domestic and foreign literatures and summarizes the research results and problems in the area of schedule optimization technology of coordinated urban rail transit and bus service. The technique and economy characters and the functional locations of conventional bus service and urban rail transit are analysed. Based on that, basic philosophy and methodology of schedule optimization technology of coordinated rail transit and bus service are proposed.Secondly, schedule optimization model of coordinated urban rail transit and bus service is established to minimize the total cost consists of operator cost and passenger cost. The genetic algorithm is used to find the optimal solution to solve the model. Then a numerical example is given to verify the model and algorithm. The result of study shows that the total cost of the system can be reduced effectively. Finally, an index system is constructed to evaluate the coordination of rail transit and conventional public transit on the basis of selection principles of the evaluation index and the method of AHP is used to evaluate transfer coordination between rail transit and conventional public transit.
