:Currently, a higher requirement of the traffic mode is needed, while people’s daily travel turns out to be more frequently. Both urban rail transit and conventional bus are different in passenger flow, although they are part of the urban public transport system. In order to improve the public transport efficiency, two traffic modes should cooperate with each other, in order to achieve complementary advantages. The paper points out the reason of the generation for passenger flow, namely pedestrians for travel mode choice is basically based on travel time, by analyzing the difference of urban rail transit and conventional bus on their technical characteristics and the function goal, combining with the development rule of passenger flow. Then, the paper explains the concept, the form and the research methods for the coordination between urban rail transit and conventional bus. Based on the theory, and the travel time of pedestrian, the paper proposes coordination from two aspects, including optimum station spacing of urban rail transit and the feeder bus route layout. The paper establishes rail station spacing optimization model based on personal travel time, in order to get optimum station spacing through the analysis of the relationship between travel distance and travel benefits. Later, the paper constructs the feeder bus route optimization model when the rail transit line is under certain circumstances, and establishes the evaluation index system of Grey Clustering, to evaluate the proposed scheme through the quantitative indicators. Finally, the paper takes two stations Liujiayao and Songjiazhuang of Beijing Urban Rail Transit No.5and the surrounding bus stations as an example to optimize and evaluate the research by applying the above methods.
