Rotating and cut flying kill element as a new kill element, because of its unique structure characteristics and damage mechanism, if it is applied to armored vehicle active protection system, it can effectively intercept rod penetrators and other inert warhead munitions with impacting and cutting, thereby improve the battlefield survivability of tanks and other armored vehicles. Research on the formation mechanism of rotating and cut flying kill element will be the development of active protection systems has important theoretical significance.In order to facilitate research the formation mechanism of rotating and cut flying kill element, according to its structural characteristics, it is simplified to a kill element fly plate with the same quality. And put forward the structural design of the high pressure driver device. Obtained variation of by experimental calibration, found the variation of explosive-driven fly plate throwing velocity axial with charging structure. On the basis of analysis on the driver model, with numerical simulation ANSYS/LS-DYNA, by analyzing the JWL state equation of dynamite, fitting a low detonation velocity explosive with low detonation pressure that meet the requirements of the high-pressure drive. Using the basic principles of interior ballistics, after analysis on the energy equation and equations of motion of fly plate, high pressure driving model of kill element rotating and flight in driver device is set up. Analysis the law of rotary and flight through theoretical calculation. Meanwhile, a finite element model of fly plate movement is established by numerical simulation. The variation of the pressure in fly plate bottom,acceleration,axial velocity and rotational velocity of fly plate are calculated.The results show that under high pressure detonation products of fitted explosive, the axial velocity and rotational velocity of fly plate with the length of the barrel increases, While the barrel internal diameter is constant. The axial velocity of fly plate with the internal diameter of the barrel increases, While the barrel length is constant, but the rotational velocity with the internal diameter of the barrel decreases. This research provides a theoretical basis for structural design of rotating and cut flying kill element and high pressure driver device.
