China is the home of tea and it is also the birthplace of tea culture. After a long time of usage and development, the act of drinking tea has been sublimated to the level of spiritual enjoyment entailing with a variety of cultural phenomena and social functions and thus leads to the birth of tea culture. Since Yin Dynasty to Song Dynasty till now, tea culture has enjoyed lasting prosperity and after thousands years of history distillation, Chinese tea culture has been sublimated to a quality traditional Chinese culture which exerts a wider impact on Chinese humanity, feelings and the behaviour of Chinese people. From Qin-Han dynasty to the present, tea culture has experienced different periods of development, from the "formation" to "rising" and from the "declining" to today's "Renaissance". The studies of tea culture by ancient and modern scholars have touched almost all aspects of tea culture including the study of tea history, tea ceremonies, teahouse, and tea poems. But looking from the entire field of tea culture study, the study of tea aesthetics has not been particularly outstanding and perfected. I personally believe that as a special kind of "intermediary" culture, the core value of Chinese tea culture lies in that it has a deeper connotation and rich aesthetic implications. And the ongoing research and analysis in this area are not enough and are not comprehensive as well. Based on the present situation of tea culture study, the article wishes to further its study and exploration of Chinese tea culture from the perspective of culture aesthetics.Based on precious tea culture studies and ancient tea culture literatures, the article employs rigorous and careful attitude and history dialectical vision as well the methods of analysis and comparison to explore the formation and development of ancient tea culture and to analyse the connotation of tea culture as well as to reveal the characteristics and aesthetic functions of tea culture. Then it continues to analyse and explain the aesthetical features and characteristics of tea culture as an aesthetic object. The article will try its best to be objective and comprehensive in its study. Tea ceremony and tea ritual are the core contents of tea culture. Tea ceremony embodies the metaphysical contents of tea culture and tea ritual reflects the external contents of tea culture; so this article focuses its analysis on the tea ceremony and tea ritual from the perspective of aesthetics and thus to reveal the deeper aesthetic implication of ancient Chinse tea culture. In recent years the study of tea culture has become increasingly popular, and this shows modern people attach great importance to the study of tea culture. Being a vital part of Chinese tradition and culture, tea culture plays a significant role in modern people's life and culture. It is especially true when we consider its great influence on our politics, economy and culture, etc. from the perspective of aesthetics in a new time short of cultural values. Now tea has become one of the three world-popular non-alcohol drinks with millions of people loving it throughout the world. The British regard tea as a drink good for health and develop a nationwide habit of morning tea and afternoon tea. For the French people, tea is a most gentle romantic and poetic dink. After introduced in Japan, tea culture evolved into Teaism and became very popular. With the fast spread of tea culture in the world, this thesis aims to, through my study, enrich the cultural life of modern people and promote their aesthetic tastes, raise the awareness of the importance of traditional Chinese tradition and culture and advance the harmonious development of the society.
