In the 1980s, the America-led developed countries have started a new round of discipline education reform. The direction of science education reform has transferred from the science-centered to society-centered, and it was more concerned about the relation of discipline education and social science and technology. Science teaching materials also has transfered from focusing on the discipline knowledge to integration of society, science and technological development.Chemistry in Context curriculum of America that I studied was borned in such social context. Its first edition was published in 1994, and reprinted every three years. It reflected that the American science education and the ideas of chemical education revolution updated continually. To some extent, it also mirrored the changes of international science education and chemical education idea. At the same time, the optimization of curriculum resources and information, and the growth of the curriculum development team made it into a School-Organization-Enterprise curriculum development model. This study will help the development of chemical teaching materials, and comply with the chemical curriculum revolution trend at home and abroad, and benefit to the exploration of new curriculum development model.Through reading a lot of relevant literatures, I analysed the research current situation at home and abroad, summarized the historical background of curriculum development, arranged relevant curriculum theory and curriculum development theory, and got rid of the traditional pattern of teaching materials and curriculum analysis and analysed this curriculum from a new perspective. I mainly studied the sixth edition of Chemistry in Context curriculum and took into account the first, fourth, fifth edition. From the nature of curriculum, development of the concept, content construction and resource construction, I analysed the special features of the curriculum development by use of literature and comparative analysis method. At last, I concluded and made some suggestion of curriculum development.Firstly, it was found that CiC curriculum has a precise, clear positioning, and it works for non-science students in university general chemistry curriculum. Secondly, the development ideas of CiC are prominent. It emphasized on the cultivation of scientific literacy, focusing on "use science"; integration of green chemistry and sustainable development elements; integrated curriculum system. Thirdly, the curriculum content has a breakthrough. It includes that it was in form of introduction of major diversified social issues, based "need-to-know" knowledge, and the logical structure of outside to inside (application to knowledge). Fourthly, CiC curriculum resources were particularly fruitful. It includes "School and Enterprise Alliance" curriculum development team and updated curriculum resources.It was founded that the related resources of this curriculum was scatter. Therefore, I designed the "American Chemistry in Context Curriculum Resources Database". In this database, it includes collected literatures and a wealth of curriculum resources in the early study work. It can help researchers and teachers and students understand and use this curriculum effectively and quickly.
