As an important component of urban green space system, campus green space is one of the signifcant objects of urban biodiversity protection. There are lots of universities located in Hangzhou, with varied construction years, abundant campus plant species, complex community types and various plant landscapes. 84 typical plant communities of 10 campuses'being chosen as the studied objects, this paper investigated into plant species, families and genera composition, community appearance features, structure types of green space; and finally came to conclusions as follow:(1) There are abundant landscape plant species on the campuses'green space of Hangzhou universities. The results show that there are 380 species of seed plants (Not including wild weed) being of 95 families and 223 genera in all, including 352 angiosperms, which belong to 88 families and 205 genera. Of them, 134 species are local plants, accounting for 35.26%; 173 species are introduced from other regions of China, accounting for 45.53%; and 73 species are introduced from foreign countries, accounting for 19.21%.(2) The seasonal aspect changes significantly on the campuses'green space of Hangzhou universities. The ratio of spices of evergreen arbor to deciduous arbor is 0.65:1, while the ratio of spices of evergreen shrub to deciduous shrub is 1.33:1. Plant community types are multiplicity, the most of which is complex structure of arbor-bush-grass and arbor-bush(grass). The species richness of Hangzhou universities is different significantly. Arbor layer has the largest species diversity index and Pielou evenness index than shrub lager, while herb layer has the lowest values of species diversity index and Pielou evenness index.(3) Based on study about the campuses'green space features of Hangzhou universities, 50 typical plant communities within 10 universities were chosen and landscape-evaluated. Plant community landscape evaluating system set up with AHP method, evaluating factors and the weight were determined. With analyzing the evaluating factors, the weight of plant community internal evaluating factors is bigger than that of plant community external evaluating factors. Of the internal evaluating indicators, the weight of spicies-diversity factor is the biggest. Of the external evaluating indicators, the weight of botanic and hard landscape harmonic factor is the biggest.(4) Campuses'green space plant communities of Hangzhou universities rank highly. With the weight of varieties of factors, the 50 plant communities were landscape-evaluated. Of them 48's evaluating value is bigger than 50%, accounting for 96% of the total. However, quality plant landscapes account very few, and most are located on the old campuses.(5) From the perspective of community levels and community landscape effects of internal and external factors affecting community landscapes, 4 classâ… communities, 3 classâ…ˇcommunities and 2 classâ…˘communities, were field measured and analyzed. optimization of campuses'green space on Hangzhou should conside the internal and external factor.
