| Automatic weather station is very important in meteorological observation. It not only improve the meteorological service ability greatly, but also provides decision information for leaders at all levels when they are in charge of flood resisting or disaster rescue. Although the massive observation information from automatic weather stations provides better data supporting to meteorological service work, it brings new pressure to transmission, processing and applying the meteorological information, so the study on the automatic weather station data management and application research is imperative This thesis is just based on above issues. By taking automatic weather stations observation data as main research object and combining with standardized regulations of observation data on meteorology industry, it researches and explores on the management and the application of the automatic weather stations observation data. We propose a practical solution program. The main research contents and methods, including:1. Automatic weather station observation data storage management. By studying and researching on the industry standards of meteorological, we completed the format standardization of different types of automatic weather station observation data and the establishment of automatic weather observation data storage database, real-time observation data will be stored in the database.2. Automatic weather station observation data processing. After the format standardizing of the automatic weather station observation data, they will be written to the database, and the quality of the data is be controlled. At the same time , according to the industry standard formats, monthly ,the functions of generating ground meteorological observation data files, report files and monthly single element files are provided.3. Automatic weather station observation data queries and applications. According to business requirement, it can monitor and analyze the the operation of automatic weather stations and the data rate to be monitored , by providing a single station query, the station information, rainfall and other inquire with SQL statements. 4. Through the geographic information system, it implements the intuitive display of rainfall and temperature, which makes convenience to the business staff to keep abreast of changes in weather patterns across the region.Through the development of this system, we summed up some of the results and conclusions. Firstly, different types of data normalization completed the integration of automatic weather observation data, to facilitate the unified management of data and applications. Second, SQL SERVER 2005 database to build businesses of all sizes a cost-effective BI (Business Intelligence) solutions to meet the automatic weather station for meteorological observation data storage and application requirements.
