Enterprise Open Innovation Performance Influencing Factors

Focusing on the subject of influencing factors on the open innovation of enterprises, this paper tries to grope for ways to improve the performance of open innovation based on external source of innovation in China by controlling those factors. The whole paper is divided into three sections: theoretical discussion, empirical research and study conclusion.In the section of the theoretical discussion, development trend of the research of open innovation is reviewed, which highlights the fact that open innovation is a very important research field which has significant practical significance especially for hi-tech industry. It has influences the competition of enterprises in China, also it is the exploration for suitable development policies in the knowledge-based economy in China. Based on the research of the open innovation, external source of innovation, and key successful factors in open innovation both in China and abroad, the author forms the dominate directing idea of the whole paper and puts forward the corresponding theory hypothesis and research model.In the second part, by questionnaire investigation among nearly 100 enterprises and quantitative analysis of the results, the author concludes totally 13 factors that influence the open innovation based on external source of innovation in China in terms of enterprise capability, external source of innovation, relationship between enterprise and its external source of innovation, safeguard, and environment. And then further validation of the relationship between those factors and the performance of open innovation based on external source of innovation is given, in order to find out the key influencing factors and the model, which constructs the relationship between the influencing factors and innovation performance. The research goes in two stages: the first stage is expert visiting and literature referring, which tries to find out the composing of the performance of open innovation and some influencing factors, then forming and validating the tentative idea of the research. The second stage is questionnaire investigation, case study and results analysis.In the last section, the author makes the explanation of the research result and advices on improving the performance of the open innovation activities of hi-tech enterprises based on external source of innovation in China.
