Since the 80s of the 20th Century, with the rapid improvement of world economy and development of economy globalization, exhibition industry as a very fresh service industry has been driven with fast growth that makes it as a major carrier of international information exchanges, technology progress and commodity transactions as well as commerce promotion among countries all around the world.Comparing with international exhibition markets of developed countries, China's exhibition industry has features of rapid growth, yet poor starting and short history. Vice Prime Minister of State Council Madam Wu Yi once pointed out that China's exhibition industry should strive for the direction of internationalization, industrialization, market and legal orientation. This article will focus on the study of international operation of China's exhibition industry and its countermeasures.At beginning of this article, it expatiates that internationalization is a necessary tendency and milestone of matured exhibition industry. Reviewing from an angle of global market viewpoint, this article puts forward that China's exhibition industry shall develop into internationalization, proactively participating in international exhibition market competition, actively searching for international cooperation, so as to strengthen China's international competitive capacity in exhibition industry.Thereafter, this article further analyses some problems existed in China's exhibition industry, presenting current development of China's exhibition industry in terms of exhibition hall construction, exhibition industry economy chains, exhibition organizations, exhibition programs and human resources in exhibition industry. Along with it, this article also demonstrates impacts brought by foreign investment to China's exhibition industry, as well as the challenges and difficulties in China's exhibition industry under international competition environment, giving out market potentials of China's exhibition industry and advantages of Chinese local exhibition enterprises in market competition comparing with foreign invested enterprises in China.At the later part of this article, it gives out challenges in exhibition internationalizationthat China is going to take and sets out corresponding countermeasures. It emphasizes with a great concern that"Introducing from overseas"as the strategy to cooperate with foreign exhibition industry and"Going-abroad"as the other strategy to participate in international market competition will be two strong drives for China to improve its competitive capacity in international market, and ensure sustainable development in exhibition industry.At present, China's exhibition industry is yet very low in internationalization; it definitely has a long way to go within the process. Exhibition industry so far as a sunrise industry in China at the moment, the study of international operation and its countermeasures in China's exhibition industry, hence, will have great practical meanings to all Chinese counterparts.
