Performance appraisal has always been a difficulty and pivot in the work of human resources administration. It seems to be more and more important as an instrument to promote the performance of the enterprises and the employees. Firstly, performance appraisal is the basis of employee's performance improvement. It helps the employees to correct their wrong conduct and consolidate their existing proper conduct; secondly, performance appraisal is the basis of professional training. Pertinent training schemes can be set down by periodical appraisal; thirdly, performance appraisal is the reasonable basis for encouragement. Performance appraisal can be applied to the encouragement and punishment of the employees to consolidate the improvement of the performance; fourthly, performance appraisal is the basis of promotion of the employees and the project of professional development since the design of professional career depends on the result of the performance appraisal.There are many methods of performance appraisal, many kinds in the following six categories in common: comparison method, characteristics method, conduct method, outcome method, 360° feedback appraisal method, equilibrium scorecard method.By the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of the performance appraisal method, the main advantage of performance appraisal is that it can avoid and reduce the errors caused by traditional methods of performance appraisal by feedback of the status of the object of appraisal all-orientedly; it can improve the capacities of the object of appraisal in many ways by feedback of the imformation of appraisal comprehensively; the enthusiasm of the employees can be improved by the performance administration mode of participation of the employees. The main task of the article is, on the basis of the above-mentioned characters, to make 360° performance appraisal suitable for the Jikong department in mining by the research and discussion of the project design of it.
