A company needs to improve performance management in order to gain competitive advantage in the strong competitive market. Performance amanagement is an effective method to reach this target, which help the company develop potential abilities. The effort of Performance management is to help the organization employ strategy plan and stimulate staff to successfully achieve tasks, moreover accelerate relationship between managers and subordinates. Now the performance management has become the core of the human resource management. In fact, some companies neglect and unknown how to design a successful performance management system.This thesis uses the practical way to introduce how to design a performance management and gives an example, the RIC company, to explain the steps of designing the performance management. First the RIC company' s original performance management is analyzed, and then the modern performance management thought is used for projecting the new system for RIC company. This thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter introduces problems of the RIC company. The second chapter details the basic performance management theories. The third chapter narrates the application of the theory and expounds how to design a new performance management system for RIC company. The last chapter is the assessment to the new system and the summary to the whole article.The purpose of this article is to find a performance management system that can help a company improve core competitive capacity. To solve this problem, the following factors would be considered:Choosing the performance technology, finding the system of index and criterion and seeking the sound process of performance management.
