Public Science Education Model To Explore

Traditional educational models of public science popularization were based on the philosophical idea of scientism and the ideology of lack models. Therefore, with the popularization of scientific knowledge as single objective, education of public science popularization has become one that the science-educated imparts scientific knowledge to the public without or lack of scientific knowledge in unilateral way. This kind of education has neglected higher level popularization education embodied scientific methods, scientific spirit and relationship between science and society, ignored subjectivity of public, and paid no attention to the multi-dimension of public scientific literacy, resulting in ineffective science popularization. To remedy this phenomenon, we should construct modern educational models of science public popularization based on the idea of "public understanding of science" with the goal of "improvement of scientific literacy". Moreover, we should implement the models through following approaches: (1) building social atmosphere and favorable educational circumstance of education of science popularization; (2) with the promoting, planning, organizing and directing of government, ensuring the efficient operation of science popularization; (3) with involvement of social forces, setting up extensive organization system of social science popularization;(4)with mass media publicity, strengthening the construction of science and technology dissemination system; (5) strengthening the development of human resource for science popularization, creating quality staffs for science popularization; (6) widely drawing on funds and innovating multiple mechanism of funds investment; (7) perfecting legislative procedures of science popularization, providing legal basis for education of science popularization; (8) adopting various incentive measures, forming effective mechanism for motivation; (9) intensifying innovation of science popularization, providing momentum for sustainable development of science popularization; (10) caring for education of science popularization of the disadvantaged, enhancing whole scientific literacy of public.
