Leisure City Index System Study

A leisure city is a modernized city, whose leading industry is leisure industry. A leisure city's development strategy and aim orientate towards leisure. A leisure city has abundant, characteristic leisure resources and recreational facilities. A leisure city has dense recreational atmosphere and strong radiation power. Facing leisure times, some traditional tourism cities put forward the strategy of leisure city construction from the angle of image location and city development. But what is the leisure city? How to assess a city's leisure degree? And how to construct leisure cities? The thesis puts forward the leisure city's concept, and the leisure city indicators framework, attempting to answer those questions. It will contribute a lot to the quantitive studies of leisure.Based upon reviews of the former researches on leisure, the thesis brings forward a set of 55 indicators for assessing the leisure degree. Using Delphi and factor analysis as tools to identify effective indicators, the thesis develops a leisure city indicators framework and a model consisting of three factors: leisure main body, leisure object, and leisure medium. And the relations between three factors are compared to those between the bow, the chord, and the arrow. According to the comparison, the thesis points out that the harmonious development of three factors is the approach of leisure cities sustainable development. At last, the case of Hangzhou leisure development is carried out through FCE. The mark of Hangzhou leisure degree is 3.7.
