With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the investment in fixed assets witnessed a fast increase and appeared in diversified modes. In particularly, the increased investment in the industrial projects is much higher than that in the other sectors. In which, the investment in the equipment accounted for a large portion. As a result, the stress laid on supervision and management in each process of design, procurement, manufacturing and installation of core equipment is the key to ensure the quality of major industrial projects and then the normal operation of these projects. Consequently, the supervision of equipment emerges as the times require. Firstly, this paper elaborates the basic theory of equipment supervision, and then cites the Tianjin Binhai Light Rail as an example to study the whole working process of equipment supervision from planning at the beginning of the project to the practical implementation of equipment supervision. Finally, the paper comments and proposes how an enterprise to establish an effective incentive systems to bring up his talents for equipment supervision.
