In recent years, paper industry in China keeps developing at a high speed, but due to the seriously lack of forest resource, the most important raw materials for making paper-wood pulp, 80% of which has to be depended on imported overseas to make up efficiency. The high-speed development of paper industry and the high level importing dependency of wood pulp lead to a wide development space for wood pulp importing. The trade volume has been increasing at a rate of near to 20% per annum. And this business is full of high growth and prosperous vitality.In the high expanding market of wood pulp import, Sycd company only shares a very small part of it. Compare with the other three businesses in the company, the wood pulp importing has a much more bright future than others. The development of this trade will directly impact much on the development of the company. So, it becomes a very rigorous and urgent subject that to recognize what kind of strategy to adopt, and how to make a stand in this trade field as well as expand the market share step by step, so as to obtain a sustainable development for this business.This article first comprehensively analyze both the inside and outside environment that the company is facing, applying the five competing force model of professor Michael e. Baud to impersonality analyze the supplier, buyer, competitor, latency entrant, and substitute; and then find the right situation of this trade in the company, study the strength, weakness, opportunity and threaten using the SWOT analysis method, bringing forward the development strategy for the wood pulp import business. Finally, point out that it is necessary for the company to establish an executable and effective import development strategy, so that to increase the market share, becoming a steady profit source and a backbone business, trying for healthy, stable, continuous growth, contributing to the steady development of the company.
