It also realizes optimal allocation among different resources in the same enterprise through the separation of enterprise headquarter and manufacturing base, then the regional economy can be characterized by scale, gregariousness and speciality. The headquarters economy is exactly the efficient way to resolve the problem of industrial transformation on the Yangtze Economic Zone and help Shanghai realize innovationdriven, transformation and upgrading. The thesis is set in the national strategy of the Yangtze Economic Zone to analyze the Headquarters economy of Shanghai. The thesis combines the headquarters economy and economic zone, providing a new way of studying headquarters economy.By demonstrating the relationship between the headquarters economy and the Yangtze Economic Zone, the thesis comes to the conclusion that they are interdependent each other; Based on the international trends of the headquarters economy, the paper discusses the tendencies in China to illustrate the necessity of developing Shanghai’s headquarters economy. After compared the capacities of developing headquarters economy between Shanghai and node cities on the Yangtze Economic Zone, the paper gives the viewpoint that Shanghai is the ideal city to develop headquarters economy on the Yangtze Economic Zone; Meanwhile, the thesis tries to find the future direction and emphasis of Shanghai’s headquarters economy by analyzing the situation of Shanghai; Based on analyzing the general influcing factors of headquarters economy,the thesis uses the factor analysis method to find influcing factors of Shanghai’s headquarters economy. Futhermore, the paper also selects the international cities(New York, Singapore and Hongkong etc.) as the objects of comparing headquarters economy with Shanghai, in order to find the similarities and the differences. And the paper focuses on analyzing the reasons of the gaps to improve the energy level of Shanghai’s headquarters economy; Suming up the above, the thesis puts forward suggestions to promote the development of Shanghai headquarters economy, based on the international perspective, the Yangtze Economic Zone national strategy and Shanghai’s own development perspective.The thesis reaches the following conclusions:1.The functions of resource allocation, radiating drive and managed service, can play roles in the industrial division and cooperation, structural optimization and upgrading,urban innovation of the Yangtze Economic Zone; In turn, industrial homogeneity,imbalanced resource distribution and enormous undertake space of industry on the Yangtze Economic Zone creat advantages of the headquarters economy.2.The trends of headquarters economy present proliferation in the developed countries such as the United States. But the headquarters economy aggregates to central cities or metropolises with the situation in which the equalization of resource allocation among regions in China. Under the environment of decentration because of the internet, central cities still have the superiorities in the respect of developing headquarters economy. In a word, it is imperative to develop Shanghai’s headquarters economy to promote the construction of the Yangtze Economic Zone.3.As the leading city on the Yangtze Economic Zone, Shanghai is the ideal city to develop the headquarters economy.
