Science is a kind of intellectual achievement as well as a kind of cultural production. Its emergence and development not only connect with intelligence and culture, but also connect with multiple factors in society. This passage is not going to talk about such a question. The developed western science spread towards the ancient China. This passage is going to talk about Chinese people’s recognization of science in the process. This involves a lot of science, technology, society and the theory about developing countries to learn from the developed countries to achieve modernization. From the academic perspective, this passage is based on the materials about the spread of western science’s gradually understanding in Yunnan, which reveals the process of science, technology and society(STS), which is called the theory of modernization. This passage discusses the development of science process in the period of late Qing dynasty, Tang Jiyao, comprehensive science in Yunnan during the 10 years before construction of the war spreading. The passage is on the basis of historical data, time warp, the level of scientific understanding latitude, decision theory and history combine to find some general issues of science, technology and society. After the war, a large number of mainland colleges and universities and factories went to Yunnan.Science started to leap-forward development in Yunnan. Before this, science has travelled from GE Zhi of Yunnan province to the scientific process as a whole, and also got the right to hold and use the scientific method.Propagation vector from the initial Japanese students as the main body to study in Europe and Yunnan Yunnan’s students as the main body. The spread of science in China has undergone three courses from artifacts to knowledge and technology, then to the spirit, while the spread in Yunnan is the same but with its own character. It including:(1) The spread and development of science relates to a variety of social factors. Yunnan-Vietnam railroad should have been the access to Western science and technology, with the lack of talents and the limit of native scientific understanding, it did not play an important role, though introduced the Western technology. (2) In the development of science in Yunnan, the unique environment and specific research material has decided the priority of scientific development. (3) Whether the war in Tang Jiyao period or after the Civil War, it indicates that Yunnan is lack of local talents and has weak scientific power. If the science wants to have a long-term development, it needs to import high-level talents and high quality flowing population. The process of science communication offers many beneficial inspirations to today’s Yunnan technology. Yunnan-Vietnam railroad and Students in Japan have made Yunnan lead in China on contacting with western civilization and on many other aspects. However, Yunnan is far behind the coastal and inland provinces in absorbing western science.. While the reason is a lot, the lacking of talents is most obvious. To get the development, Yunnan must depend on science. Due to the talents shortage and slow native cultivation, Yunnan can achieve the rapid development, only by bring in numerous scientific talents. During the course of Anti-Japanese war, large number of universities and factories moved to Yunnan, which has brought the leap-forward development in Yunnan. It fully illustrates the above viewpoint. This paper studies the independent spread course of science in Yunnan from late Qing Dynasty to Anti-Japanese War, through which it can indicates that on one hand, Yunnan needs the scientific talents, on the other hand it needs a new culture brought by a large number of floating population.
