A Study On The Impact Of Low - Carbon Performance On Economic Performance Of China 's Manufacturing Enterprises

As an important pillar industry of our national economy, the manufacturing sector has been the extensive mode of economic growth pattern based, it consumes a lot of energy while promoting economic development, and has become the main source of carbon emissions in China. Therefore, manufacturing enterprises to change economic development, improve the low-carbon performance have a significant impact for China to develop low-carbon economy and achieve emission reduction targets. From the perspective of enterprise, to enhance and improve low carbon performance means to increase the development spending, it will lead to an increase in operating costs of enterprises, so managers will come up with whether the low carbon performance will hinder their performance development. Based on this, It is necessary to study the relationship between low-carbon performance and economic performance of manufacturing enterprises and it is significant to promote the enterprises to implement energy-saving and emission reduction strategies and promote the development of low-carbon economy.This paper combines literature and empirical study methods to analyze the relationship between the low-carbon performance and economic performance of manufacturing enterprises. First of all, This paper reviews the domestic and international studies on low carbon performance and economic performance, and defines the concept of the two, and then based on the sustainable development theory, low-carbon economic theory and stakeholder theory, we analyze the mechanism of how low-carbon performance influences economic performance, for the following empirical research of the relationship between the low-carbon performance and economic performance.Secondly, on the basis of theoretical research, the research object of manufacturing enterprises in the scale of 2003-2011 to study the low carbon performance and economic performance. From the angle of the input and output, to build the low carbon performance measurement indicators and measured by DEA-Malmquist method. At the same time, we select the profitability and development capacity indicators to measure short-term economic performance and long-term economic performance, and use the factor analysis method to calculate that the short-term economic performance and long-term economic performance evaluation value. On the basis of the research results of the scholars, the research hypothesis and model are constructed. Again, using multiple linear regression method to study the impact of low carbon performance on the economic performance of enterprises, it is concluded that low-carbon performance has no significant effect on the short-term economic performance, and has positive effect on the long-term economic performance of enterprises.Finally, combined with low-carbon economic development situation of China’s manufacturing enterprises, mainly from the macro and micro aspects we put forward suggestions, for manufacturing enterprises enhance their low-carbon performance and promote China’s further development of low-carbon economy provide some reference.
