In Shengzhong lake region the tourism resources is rich, the geographical condition is superior, there is so much advantaged superiority in the development of rural tourism, however, because of the lack of experience for the development of rural tourism, Shengzhong lake region appeared many problems need to solve for the rural tourism development.This paper studies in the background and significance of rural tourism in Shengzhong lake region. On the basis of the related literature at home and abroad, to determine the research purpose, method, content and way of thinking, absorbs the domestic and foreign typical experience of rural tourism development model, by using the theory of tourism destination competitiveness, community development theory, creative theory and enterprise strategy analysis method, to determine protection development, economic and social benefits of a win-win situation, the combination of the overall system, farmers’ full participation, the government leading, prominent characteristics, enhance the brand to create and strengthen training, attach importance to the eight principles of the guide, to promoted the present situation analysis of rural tourism development, founding it is rich in tourism resources, and the geographical condition is superior in this region, the social from all walks of life gave full support to the development of the rural tourism, and gradually improve the infrastructure, and implementation of the sports method to promote the development of rural tourism, createdChinese Shengzhong lake fishing culture and art festival, and regularly organize world-class fishing contest, successfully created the national 4A level scenic spot, however, due to the backward economy, the rural tourism development of late, service personnel quality is not high, a single tourism brand, and issues of local traffic is inconvenience, restricted the further development of the region’s rural tourism.
