Png Image Decoding In Embedded Gui And Implementation

Now the evolution of computing has decreased the tight coupling between the user and his or her computing resource and environment. Mobile terminal is an important part of pervasive computing terminal. Because of improving of wireless communication rate, voice communication service terminal and personal information managing terminal are being integrated, which results in smart phone. With the improving of hardware, the performance of mobile terminal is becoming stronger and stronger. The multimedia graphical user interaction of desktop systems appears to be an important standard of mobile terminal products.To achieve this goal, the project I engaged in aims to produce a picture browser for embedded systems. The browser is capable to display PNG graphics formats, and it is expected to be used in smart phone user interface. As the PNG graphics is the most important dynamic picture format for embedded terminal, its display proves to be a necessary part in the browser.I did thorough research into PNG file format and got familiar with decodeing and display process. I made a PNG decode function library and a PNG display function library. The PNG module meets the requirements of embedded terminal products such as various user demand, short execution time, and lower expense of system memory. PNG pictures can be correctly displayed on embedded terminal platform and successfully went through tests.In this thesis I first generally introduce the embedded terminal system and the purpose of the subject. Then I analysis the PNG format thoroughly and draw the whole decode process. After that I describe the display process of the data which come from the decode function, and show how to transplant the process to particular platform with examples.
