With the increasing of the prevalence and application in PLD (programmable Logic Device) nowadays, the main direction of electronic design has been turned into ASIC and FPGA. Also because of the high-speed development in the manufacture of semiconductor, chips in FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) once with high cost have become the most popular choice in ASIC design. The project in this article bases on the demand of EDA, ASIC courses in university and gives a design that not only fits for practice teaching, but also a utility platform in electronic design for beginner. This article focuses on the research, development and testing in platform hardware design. First of all, the article discusses the main direction of electronic design in recent years, and then introduces the common methods used in this development, such as ASIC design, EDA design based on CPLD, FPGA and etc. Then conclude the purpose and value of EDA practice teaching in university.Secondly, under the discussion of requirement of electronic practice teaching, this article gives an elaborate design about electronic system based on FPGA chip. The design includes the aspects of: FPGA chip choice, peripheral function discussion, total system cost analysis, system consuming estimate and component choice.Based on the electronic system design, this article introduces the real course of hardware making, including power supply part, peripheral function part and PCB layout in AD-mix signal system.Finally, under the discussion of the main problems occured in hardware fabrication, this article also shows the hardware testing course and main testing data by using correlative software.In this article, an entire course of basical AD-mix signal system is presented. This hardware platform is able to cooperate with not noly common PC, but also other electronic system through high-speed communication interface in order to complete further development such as SOPC and so on.
