The Programmable Logic Device(PLD) has developed fastly for a long time since it was invented in 1970's.Because designer can change the function of one PLD just by changing the configurtion data not changing the PLD, the new design style provide great flexibility and greatly cut the time from design to product. Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) and Complex Programmable Logic Device(CPLD) are two main and most important type of PLD. With constantly improving in process, design tool, integration dimension and dropping in power consumption and price per chip, PLD will be used in a number of fields in the communications, data processing, networking.Voltage regulator circuit widely used to provide a stable and meeted the requirements of the power supply voltage. It is used to conver the external 2.5V or 3.3V power supply voltage to 1.8V power supply voltage required for the core logic circuit.The voltage regulator circuit control the output voltage by the way of digital and analog, and makes output voltage ripple and drive capacity meted the system'requirement. This paper first describes the overall structure of the voltage regulation circuit and working principle, then designs of each unit according to the indicator. The paper is focus on analysis and design of the reference circuit, liner voltage regulator, comparator.After completing theory analysis and circuit design, we use spectre to simulate each unit and the whole circuit. From the simulation, we can get that the circuit work in 2.2V and 3.6V and the output voltage is 1.8V, the max drive capacity is 1A, the max output voltage ripple is 130mV. As it is used in digital circuit, we don't need a very small output voltage ripple but need a strong output drive capacity. From the final simulation we can get the concusion that the circuit is succesy .
