Research Of IP Telephony Integrated Services In Intranet Based On Softswitch

How to transport voice,fax,video in the Intranet is the hot research field in current network technology application.IP telephony(VoIP) is the new technology which can transport voice,fax,video,data on the Internet or Intranet.But the gateway structure,costs, expansibility of the IP telephony restrict its deployment and application widely.Softswitch technology is developed step by step based on the IP telephony, which is the core technology of the Next-Generation Network(NGN) that can handles voice, fax,data, and routes calls across different types of networks. Softswitch is independent of the transport network which mainly holds the call processing rules,manages network availability,validates user accounts,routes signaling messages,and provides the supplementary services with its open application programming interfaces(APIs).Combining Softswitch technology with Intranet IP telephony not only can integrate dissimilar networks and network components,but support interconnection with current VoIP technology in Intranet.What is more,deploying VoIP in Intranet based on Softswitch makes supplying newer services more easy regardless of the network components.This paper firstly outlines the VoIP technology in Intranet and the application of IP telephony,then explains the Softswitch definition,architecture, standards,protocols and its services.lastly puts forward applying Softswitch technology in Intranet VoIP network, gives a software model architecture of Intranet VoIP integration services system based on softswitch,and implements its basic functions.
