PON is a kind of optical access application model what can be used at home or in enterprise via ONU(optical network unit), which is the closest application model can be used by the end user.In order to meet with user's requirement of broadband, fast, feasibility and stability application on video, digital TV and IPTV multiple media.The local marketing is getting more serious demands to low-coast application which apply to current flush business challenge.Thus lead to brand new topic in next 4 to 5 years with highly PON conception in China.In recent years, the PON relevance technology develops rapidly, the hot spot technology, BPON(APON), nonstandard all kinds of from 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s already becoming the telecommunication field foretell standard ITU-T GPON that EPON develops to standard EPON of IEEE and 2.5 Gb/s supporting 1.25 Gb/s circuits rate.This thesis first analized the PON principle and the key technology in detail. Then, FTTx solutions using PON for office building, housing estate corridor and important customer were introduced. Further more,this thesis discussed the key technology on FTTx in telecommunication operators in the construction of network planning, including bandwidth budget, ODN planning, etc. Meanwhile, we took the Beijing Unicom EPON engineering as an example, put forward and proved the implementation of the scheme to EPON FTTH, and researched on different construction mode of EPON in operator network.
