With the development of Chinese modernization process, the ensuing influence and damage from natural disasters, is also growing. The losses caused by natural disasters of meteorological disasters accounted for 70% in all. Therefore, how to speed up the building of the scientific weather monitoring network and do an effective early warning to disastrous weather is a priority.First, according to the Guilin geographic and climatic characteristics and the comprehensive exploration environment of the city, the monitoring hardware system which is existing and continue construcing are designed and improved to form the automated weather observation stations of reginal networks which is the appropriate , reasonale distribution, high degree automation, timelinessto meet the small-scale weather meterorogical services needs.Secondly, the monitoring system software builed. The system consists of several subsystems. Among them, automatic weather station data real-time dynamic monitoring and the warning subsystem is my work. The main task is to achieve real-time automated site monitoring, data acquisition, distribution and disaster weather warning in Guilin area. Automatic weather station plays an important rolet in carrying out real-time monitoring data refined forecasting service, and improve the level of meteorological services, to meet the severe weather warning forecasting demand.The whole system used VB programming language, structure programming design patterns, combined with ODBC database programming. System's main features include three major funtional blocks which are operations management, monitoring display, data processing (into a local database, query data, distribution data). The system can read and dealth the corresponding sub-data from the Guilin SQL SERVER sub-centers system through the set up ODBC data source. According to the site latitude and longitude coordinates on the topographic map in Guilin, the system can display real-time monitoring and warning services, and do the site data contour mapping by Surfer mapping software Background control interface functions.
