With the development of mobile Internet and the growing demand for distance education, students have become increasingly demanding on the teaching service. The traditional online teaching methods require students and teachers online at the same time, which are restricted by time and locations. So the traditional online teaching methods can't meet the requirements of learning anytime, anywhere. This paper presents a transform plan to transform the existing internet based e-learning platform to mobile internet technology based platform, which combines the mobile communication technology and computer technology. This thesis introduces a mobile internet baed e-learning platform, which targets at handheld smart mobile devices, particularly smart phones. It is of great significance to the modern education.This thesis takes ASP.NET and SQL Server 2005 as the development environment, adopes the B/S structure. The mobile internet based e-learning system is constituted by five modules: system registration, course information, learning materials, teachers resources, personal information maintenance and behavior statistics. To adapt to the characteristics of the mobile Internet environment, this thesis transformed the text resources to plain text and compressed the video resources to save bandwidth.Through the reformation of the school's online platform, students can freely access the learning materials at any time, anywhere and thus get rid of the constraints of time and space. It also solves the equipment limitations issues and enables students who have no PC to participate the on-line teaching activities. In addition to the traditional learning methods such as broadcasting, television, internet, and satellite, a new way is provided to students for the efficient learning.
