Recent years, along with increasing maturity of information technology and strong market cultivation by ERP software provider (such as SAP and ORACLE etc), ERP is widely accepted by enterprise circles and become key business dealing system which improve management benefit for many successful companies. The successful implementation and application of ERP which standardize company's work flow, meanwhile, also enable to dig truly useful data for enterprise decision-making quickly and effectively. SAP BW is one of component of the mySAP Business Intelligence (BI) Suit in Germany's SAP LTD. SAP BW provides an integrated and business-oriented data platform of collection, storage, analysis and management for SAP and non-SAP data. And it has achieved to connect with the SAP R3 seamlessly.The theory of Modern Organizations and Operating and The Model of Business Analysis will be used in this thesis. Based on this thesis, firstly planning the EDW data standard output listing according to demand situation of department application in Sinopec headquarters, its main function is provide uniform–caliber and shared data for each business department; accordingly it should analyze a basic data listing of Datasource in SAP R3 to provide raw data and guarantee consistency of data exaction. These two listing are the basis for us designing EDW, based on above two tables, we will research on EDW's whole architecture, hierarchy design, switch layer design, authority management and performance optimization and the core output will be the decision-making analysis forms which can meet enterprise requirement.Integrated on above description, EDW building can make the enterprise scientize the decision, standardize the management, maximize the capacity, it can save a large number of human resources cost for the enterprise and can keep the enterprise maintain powerful competitiveness.
