With the emergence and extensive use of software radio technology,the design of wireless communication systems based on software radio has become the mainstream of modern communication system design. Wireless communication systems based on software radio always use software to achieve various communication functions such as frequency band, modulation type, data format, encryption mode and communication protocols on a standardized and modular hardware platform, which can only be implemented with hardware in the past.Wireless communication systems based on software radio always use DSP and FPGA chips to build the system's hardware platform. In this architecture ,the developer's programming capabilities have to be high, because developers need not only develop procedures for the upper algorithm but also develop the underlying chip-specific driver interface program. In addition, because of the chip's constraints, this software radio architecture rarely use operating system, it can only use a simple loop procedure to schedule each task module and to handle the outside requests. With the system's complexity increase and the expansion of scope of application, in the program design process, if handle improperly, the system's performance may degrade and even fail because of the inappropriate resource scheduling. In order to resolve these deficiencies, embedded operating systems has been applied to the software radio system gradually.In light of the idea of software radio technology, this article introduces a software radio system which uses ARM&DSP&FPGA to build hardware platform and Windows CE to build software platform. We build a IF digitization short-wave communications system by loading related software on this popular hardware platform. In chapter 2, we expound the principle of differential frequency hopping(DFH), as well as the communication system's platform architecture. In chapter 3,we describe the building process of the system hardware and software platform,such as chip selection, chips'interfaces design and debugging, BootLoader development, driver development, Windows CE operating system kernel development, etc. In chapter 4, we introduce the the DFH communication system's software interfaces design.
