With the popularization and development of Internet/Intranet technology, the application system based on WEB has achieved vast development in a short time. The Office Information Platform (OIP) plays a more and more important role in business than before. Many medium-sized and small-sized companies are eager to improve their productive efficiency and interior communication by applying information technology. The author here studied and realized the OIP aimed on medium-sized and small-sized companies. Here discussed the current status and future issues of OIP, classified the functions and characters of the office platforms widely used by medium-sized and small-sized companies, introduced the techniques used in office platforms, and built a systemized model of implementing the application platform. Here, the component structure is used in the OIP developing and implement. The advantages of ADO.NET were discussed thoroughly. Technically, data layer's components design and data transfer were realized. And the general methods and techniques of developing OIP based on ADO.NET model were expatiated.Because many medium-sized and small-sized companies have difficulties in information technology application, the study team wants to develop a general OIP. The generalization of this OIP is the most important point in the demands study and the function development. Thus, after customization it can be widely used by non-manufacturing medium-sized and small-sized companies. In general, this thesis expatiated on the current status and future issues of OIP. The ADO.NET techniques were discussed and studied here. The application of DataSet techniques was combined with the OIP design efficiently. This thesis supplies some suggestion and methods about how to design the OIPs of medium-sized and small-sized companies and how to build them.
