In recent years, the integrated circuit industry has developed very fast. In order to guarantee the functionality and performance parameters meet the technical requirements, integrated circuit testing in the industrial chain will play a more and more important role. IC testing has become of a key technology to the IC survival and development, and test equipments are essential tools. The research and development of integrated circuit testing technology and test equipments has important practical significance. Our team has collaborated with a company, and we undertake the research and successfully developed a platform to test analog integrated circuits, digital integrated circuits and digital-analog hybrid integrated circuits integrated circuit tester.It has expounded the design part of integrated circuit tester and computer interface in this paper. Firstly the paper has analyzed how to work in accordance with this project, and meet the needs of each test part. Then we give the definition of local bus signals and complete the local bus design. In the specific hardware circuit part, we choose the company's proprietary PLX interface chip PCI 9030, which is a target device interface chip conformed to PCI bus specification 2.2. By the use of the chip to complete the computer PCI bus to the local bus conversion, we can not have in-depth understanding of the complicated and PCI protocols. We just need to understand only some of them and know the significance of the signal and data signal timing relationships. According to the actual work requirements of the tester, the paper also had designed the interrupt of our project. The paper has analyzed how to produce interrupt by each template of the testing instrument, and how to apply after the election. We also introduce how the interface board handled some of the external interrupts, and how to apply to the computer through the PCI 9030. The paper has a detailed description of the upper software how to respond to interrupts. In the driver design, in order to save development cycle and make the tester to run in a stable working environment, this paper have used the PLX's Software Development Kit SDK to achieve the PCI interface card driver, which provided the tools for kernel driver and some useful API-based library. In this paper, we use the debugging application software PLXMon to edit the PCI 9030's configuration registers EEPROM, and get the right PCI 9030 local bus control signals to regulate the local bus signal timing of the integrated circuit tester.This PCI interface card we designed is the base of the entire project. Through the joint debugging and testing, it is stable. After the actual on-site commissioning, it proves to be a good task to achieve the communications work between computer and tester. At present the integrated circuit tester which our team designed has been put into practical use. And it got good appraisement from the user. It has great practical significance.
