With the development of social informatization and networknization, the literature information management level in the libraries of universities and colleges have been improved continuously, and the readers have an increasing demand for the use and share of the digital resource through the network. The diversification of the literature type is one of apparent characteristics of the modern library collections, and the book-attached CD-ROM is one type. In order to further improve the resource utilization and serve the readers better, the networked management of the book-attached CD-ROM in the library is imperative under the situation.In this paper, based on various book-attached CD-ROMs, an analysis and research is carried out according to the web publishing route, resource type and the management mode, to summarize the similarities and differences of the characteristics. Meanwhile, a comparison on several network-based management technologies for book-attached CD-ROM popular in the universities and colleges currently is conducted, and then this paper presents the problems needed to be solved firstly for various book-attached CD-ROM resources during the data integration, namely, the formulation of the CD-ROM metadata shall abide by a uniform standard strictly. This paper mainly discusses the establishment of the CD-ROM metadata description frame based on RDF with Dublin Core Metadata as standard to form the basic databank of the book-attached CD-ROM resource in the library. Finally, in combination with the actual demand, by analyzing the type and the characteristics of publishing mode of the book-attached CD-ROMs in library of Xichang College, as well as the specific requirements of the CD-ROM resource for data processing during the integration process, this paper discusses the design and realization of the book-attached CD-ROM resource publishing system.In addition, in this paper, based on the users'requirements for university library, some specific problems during the publishing process are analyzes and researched, such as the interrelated problem between the book-attached CD-ROM resource in the system and the searching and borrowing of the actual carrier (original book); the reduced performance of the storage server and the network congestion phenomenon caused by the object documents of CD-ROM during the transmission process; and the system's storage capacity limitation and the selection methods for updating and cleaning of the related object documents. Based on this, this paper introduces to use the Web technology to realize the OPAC two-way interaction between the CD-ROM publishing and the management system of library books, thereby solving the related problem between the book-attached CD-ROM resource in the system and the searching and borrowing of the actual carrier (original book); use the streaming media broadcasting technology to solve the transmission problem of the streaming media; use the distributed system to solve the load balancing problem of the CD-ROM data server; and use the service cycle analysis of the book-attached CD-ROM for data selection, to provide basis for the dynamic publishing mode of the CD-ROM resource, so as to solve the conflict between the limited storage space and the user demand, thereby improving the utilization ratio problem of CD-ROM publishing. By establishing a certain mode for the above-mentioned problems, based on the actual conditions, this paper presents the basic ideas and data structure of system realization and the realization methods of some programs, thereby further discussing and analyzing the optimization technology of the CD-ROM publishing system.
