Augmented Reality Mobile Terminal

Augmented Reality is an important branch of Virtual Reality. Most of the Augmented Reality systems are used to achieve the integration scenario with HMD and complete the scene recognition and Augmented Reality with high-end computer,locating and tracking equipment and Human-Computer Interaction Device. This kind of Augmented Reality systems are expensive,inconvenient,difficult in information sharing and crashed ealily. So, it is difficult to meet the application uses ,and it is necessary to be portable, mobile and easy to operate. In such a situation, research on mobile terminal Augmented Reality based on spatial information has become a hot spot in the world.Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows overlaying the computer-generated virtual information into the user's view of the real world, and with changes of his position and line of sight, the virtual objects will change accordingly, as if it really exists in the real world. The AR technology will enhance the user's perception of and interaction with the real world.Augmented Reality will be applied to the field of mobile LBS. Not only provide various user spatial information according user's position,but also can superimpose 3D spatial information on the user's video dynamically , increasing user's interactivity with the system, and making user's interface more intelligent. This is the new way of combining spatial information services with mobile location services.The built of mobile Augmented Reality system involves many fields.It is a front and hot field in Virtual Reality. Development and application of mobile Augmented Reality system is a very complex task.This paper puts forth the construction plan and technical route of the outdoor Augmented Reality system based on mobile terminal. The hardware and software interfaces between smart phone and 3D electronic compass is developed,and the interface of GPS information on smart mobile is built. Also this paper developed a program that has a feature of Augmented Reality in the dopod P660 smart phones, which realizing the overlay of virtual image and video.
