Augmented reality is a new technology based on virtual reality technology. It generates virtual information through computer system, including text information, virtual scene, virtual objects and so on. Then the information is placed in the corresponding position in the real scene. Thus the real world is enhanced.This paper is aimed at enhancing the relevant technology of the augmented reality to further explore and research, based on the current popular Android smart phone platform, which combined with the current hot robot research field, to achieve a virtual robot arm based on Android platform augmented reality system.Firstly, this paper summarizes the current research status and development of mobile augmented reality technology, summarizes the development process of mobile augmented reality technology, summarizes and analyzes the domestic and foreign research institutions, research characteristics and related resources. The theory and technology involved in this field are described in detail, and the current research hotspot is summarized, classified and compared. This paper also mainly introduces and discusses the technology of tracking registration.Secondly, the design and implementation of the augmented reality system based on Android smart phone platform is carried out. The system is divided into two parts, namely, the display of virtual robot arm and the realization of virtual robot arm grab. From a technical point of view, the main work lies in the three part of 3D modeling and motion design, identification and model rendering, interaction and action of the two models. This paper uses SolidWorks software and 3ds Max software to carry out the three-dimensional modeling and motion design of virtual robot arm. The main program of the system is developed in the Unity3 D development tools, and the implementation of the Vuforia SDK development kit which is released by the Qualcomm Corp is used as the basic frame. Vuforia SDK development kit is the current world’s popular augmented reality development kit, and launched the Unity3 D version, and Unity3 D software can seamlessly. Vuforia SDK development kit, the production of good identification map file and three-dimensional model are imported into the Unity3 D software. by setting the relevant parameters, the preparation of the corresponding function code, this paper realized the core functions, and the function test. In three different design schemes, the system has realized the core function well.At last, this paper summarizes the content, and makes a prospect of the research direction of the system.This system has tried to apply the technology to the field of robot control, and realized the operation of the robot model in the virtual end. In the end of this paper, the research work of the next step is made in order to provide some reference for the enhancement of the combination of practical technology and robot control.
