Educational Management System Based On Soa Architecture To Build

With the networking and intellectualization of the office environment in enterprises and institutions, it becomes a matter of great urgency to strengthen the automatic construction of educational administration in universities.Some teaching management softwares such as online course selection system and automated course scheduling system have been purchased to realize the automatic and non-paper teaching management in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University since 2004.In practical operations, some deficiencies have been found.Due to the use of teaching administration softwares with different manufacturers and different programming standards, the teaching management softwares are divided with each other and there is no shared application architecture among them.So the softwares cannot be integrated into one platform and they become the isolated information islands.Meanwhile, the system is poor in scalability and is very hard to be extended in the fields such as teaching quality evaluation and teacher's lesson preparation online.How to effectively solve the above problems is an urgent issue in educational administration in the university.First of all, the necessity of building SOA-based educational management system is discussed by analyzing the current situation and problems of the teaching management in Nanjing Xiaozhuang University. Secondly, the main functions of the proposed educational management system are discussed and the core process such as teaching plans and tasks, examination management are analyzed.Thirdly, the structure of the system is analyzed and then the subsystems for teaching plans and tasks, timetable and examination management are fully designed where the integration of the SOA-based system and the existed educational management system are emphatically analyzed. Finally, the system security and architecture scalability are discussed and conclusions are reached.
