From the first. generation of analog mobile communication system to the third digital mobile communication system, the cellular mobile communication technology has developed for more than 20 years. As one of cellular digital communication system standards, GSM system was published formally in Europe in 1991, and acquired an unprecedented development because of its public criterion and powerful ability of roaming.GPRS(General Packet Radio Service), which is developed on the basis of GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications) is one kind of new telecommunication business being applied universally. It can provide data service by packet method. Before the application of the third generation mobile communication, it becomes the main solution to provide information service in mobile systems. With the rapid increase of the mobile consumers, there will be more and more problem in the mobile network. On one hand, because the density of traffic is not uniform, frequency resource is strained and equipments from different manufacturers are interconneced, it is necessary to improve the rationality and adaptability of the mobile network. On the other hand, with the acceleration of network construction and GPRS development, more problems in GPRS network are revealed due to the increase of traffic and consumers. Over all, in order to supply much better service for consumers, more attention and fund will be paid on network optimization.The author based on many years of GPRS wireless network optimization and testing experience, from the GPRS network optimization point of view, detailing the GPRS mobile communication system and associated interface protocol, and GPRS test analysis system designed not only to solve frequently encountered in the GPRS Optimization but also raised the issue of parameter adjustment method.
