The rapid development of enterprise proposes new requirements for data transmission such as system multi-interactive transmission, transmission capacity, real-time and high security. Messaging middleware plays an important role in middleware, which provides efficient, reliable, platform-independent data transmission services for applications in distributed network computing environment. This paper analyzes the message queue middleware and message broker middleware, summaries the advantages, disadvantages and their application scope of the two models above. Then we also classify messages transferred between applications according to their scales. According to message scale and performance requirement, this paper adopts Pub/Sub, PTP and hybrid communication model to propose a Message-Oriented Middleware model BSMS based on messages scale classification in practical system applications. In the message transmission, BSMB can use the most suitable realization mode and delivery methods to improve messaging middleware efficiency, reliability and flexibility in the application process. In the system designing process, we also study basic knowledge and implementation technique of traditional messaging middleware. Through the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application, this paper analyses advantages and disadvantages of the existing messaging middleware and new needs of current message transmission for middleware. So we improve the traditional message middleware model and introduce some of improved techniques into the BSMB system, which increase efficiency and reliability of message transmission. The improved techniques include thread pool, memory pool, and reliable multicast, etc.
