With the development of computer technology and Internet, the VOD technology has become even more popular in the field of education and entertainment, with its excellent human-machine interaction and steaming media transmission technology.VOD, in short of Video on Demand, means "broadcasting video on customer's demand", which includes entertainment, education, commerce, etc., for example Movie On Demand, Hot-News On Demand, Interactive Video Games, Long Distance Learning and so on. The streaming media technology is a revolution in the field of video frequency, which improves people's life and study, enhance the life quality and working efficiency.This system is based on analyzing routine campus requirements, combining with streaming media transmission principle, simulating the WEB Video On Demand project on campus LAN and designing the sub Modula either. Adopting B/S mode, applying the SQL SEVER technology on functional sever and disk array, the system synchronizes HTML, ASP.NET, JAVASCRIPT to make the interface beautiful and operation smooth. The sub Modula are System Login, System Data Adding, System Data Stat. and System Query and Browse function modules etc.; nice interfaces has been designed to connect foreground to background, users could do online search, browse, order programs, comment on the videos, through the user-service module modify person information and apply for password protections and etc.. Administrators could implement add, delete, and modify on user and video information and comments. There are four modules included:Member Management, Video information display broadcasting, Video information searching, Administrator Module. Combining with a concrete example, the article demonstrates principles do interactive video on demand system basing on WEB, software structures and how to design the system.The system designed in this article is with a lot of advantages like proper performances, advanced technology, hospitable interfaces etc.Because of the low cost to implement, the system will become a preferable choice of every campus Lan. Meanwhile, this article dose some research on network optimization and sets up a foundation for the further study.
