The guide rail acts as the guiding components,which performances such as safety, comfort and speed are determined by the quality of the guide rails in large degree. But the main decisive factor of guide rail is straightness error. At present, straightness measurement is used commonly, which has simple application with not high accuracy and low efficiency, but it cannot guarantee the performance. Because there lacks special precision instruments of measuring the guide rail straightness error in the market at the same time, therefore this design realizes the auto-measuring system.This article makes some introduction about the techniques and development of straightness measurement home and abroad, and chooses the system measurement program with the performance index and actual application of this system. According to the straightness evaluation method and special standards of elevator guide rail, four evaluation methods of straightness error are determined.Complete the hardware selection and software design, test the system, clear the faults and errors, which occurred in the run time, and make some necessary changes and improvement to the hardware. Performance optimization is made about the rail vibration, endpoint selection, burr shielding and other issuses which occurred in the system test and running, at the same tiome some error compensation are made to the benchmark guide rail.Analyze system error and make some evaluation to the system performance index by measurement system analyze method. Every index meets the argument. This system increases the detection accuracy and efficiency, ensures the precise, provide new detection method which can ensure the quality of elevator guide rail and improve the product efficiency and benefit. The whole detection system can be used in the end.
