The media processing technique is one of the key domains of information technology. With the increasing complexity of the media processing algorithms and the diversity of the media standard, the traditional ASIC or GPP methods can no longer satisfy the application requirement. A new approach is presented that we can solve this problem by the reconfigurable media processing SoC, which has a computing architecture composed of the RISC processor and the reconfigurable computing array.The media application solution based on the reconfigurable SoC requires a good integrated developing environment. There are two important parts of this integrated developing environment, the software simulator and the remote debug system. In this paper, we re-design these two parts of the integrated developing environment for the reconfigurable SoC architecture. An elegant and extendable simulator based on the plug-in mechanism is presented in this paper, which satisfies the requirement of simulation and debug. To meet the demand of remote debug for the reconfigurable multi-core system, we also bring forward an active break-point-triggered debug methodology for the multi-core system. This methodology has a simple architecture and is easy to realize. Besides that, it consumes a little hardware resource and is easy to extend.
