With the Internet's rapid development and wide application, security of e-commerce has become increasingly important. For the e-commerce that relys on the Internet, security issues are the top priority which need to be solved by the customers, merchants, banks and other participants. The economic loss of the United States amounts to 7.5 billion dollars every year because of the security issues of e-commerce. A series of the e-commerce process reflect the power , responsibilities, obligations and interests of the parties. The security issues in the operation of e-commerce has undeniably become an obstacle to the development of electronic commerce as a major factor. Especially in the development of domestic information started relatively late, all aspects of software, hardware and network technology development is relatively slow, there is a gap, so to some extent hindered the development of electronic commerce.The electronic payment is a key process in electronic commercial transactions. It relates to the information transmission between customers and business organizations, such as sellers, banks and etc. How to keep it secure and convenient is an imperative key point in the development of electronic commerce. It is very important to study an extensible, reliable and widely used payment system of electronic commerce. Therefore, research of how to construct an integrated security system of e-commerce security issues, the development of secure electronic payment system in our country's urgent needs of the development of electronic commerce has important practical significance, but it is also a challenging and difficult task.This thesis introduces the modes, functions and safety requirements of payment system of electronic commerce, analyzes and compares SET and SSL, which are two primary protocols about safe payment. This thesis also studies the payment systems built on the basis of the two protocols. Furthermore, an on-line and secure payment model based on SSL&SET is brought forward and its feasibility and feature are analyzed and demonstrated. This paper completes the model frame and the main module design.
