The Research Of Electronic Payment Platform Based On SET Protocol In E-Commerce Environment

Accompanying with the development of Internet, E-Commerce, with its advantages of high efficiency and low cost, has become new business mode and conception step by step. Online-payment is the key technology of application of E-Commerce. Based on the open Internet platform, SET protocol constructs a practical model of online-payment system on the current business frame, establishing the base for traditional business mode to shift to E-Commerce mode, meeting the urgent need of the trend of global business electrization.SET protocol is an electronic payment system protocol based on credit cards which was proposed by the two great credit card organizations Visa and MasterCard to be used on Internet .The core technology in SET includes data encryption,data signature,electronic envelope and electronic secure certificate etc. SET is designed mainly to solve transactions through credit card payment among the customer and the merchant and the bank, so as to protect the secret of payment information, the integrity of payment process, the legal status of merchants and card-holders, and the operability. SET protocol is complex, its design is strict and its security is high. It is mainly applied to B to C mode to protect the security of payment information.XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a new kind of Web language developed by W3C to follow the development of Internet, and it is a subset of SGML which was developed and standardized by the International Organization for Standards. XML brings structure, intelligence and operability to Web data, thus brings great change to Web search technology, Web database technology and even Web data exchange technology. Also it brings innovative impact to E-commerce and plays an important role in both the content definition and data exchange of E-commerce.This paper makes an all-sided introduction to SET protocol specification from SET technology standards, SET security technology, SET payment process, SET message analysis, SET environment etc. And puts forward improved solutions from two aspects of accountability and E-wallet. Bringing XMLtechnology to SET system, taking XML as data exchange format, it develops prototype system based on server-side E-wallet and displays a complete SETpayment process.
