Railway Vehicle Based On Virtual Reality Technology To Run The Simulation System

Virtual Reality (VR) is a new and rising technology, which can simulate the realistic world vividly, and realize the interaction between the user and the virtual objects. Along with the continuously development of computer technique and simulation technique, the application fields of Virtual Reality technique becomes wider and deeper. But the application of VR in the design for domestic railway vehicle is at the stage of searching.In this paper, the basic theories and the system architecture of VR are studied, the technology of geometry modeling, virtual scene generating and stereo displaying are researched, several VR softwares are analyzed and compared, then the methoeds of the railway vehicle running vibration modeling and numerical emulating are studied. On the basis of above-mentioned studying, the design methods of the railway vehicle running simulation system based on VR technology are discussed. The railway vehicle running simulation system based on VR technology is fully analyzed and the system structure is studied and designed. Then based on Visual C++6.0, the railway vehicle running simulation system is developed with the VR modeling and the VR simulation software, realized several function such as scene displaying and roaming, model driving and controlling, natural landscape emulating, vibration numerical emulating etc. and displayed running process of the railway vehicle under the different work condition, for the convenience of researcher to analysis, judge and decision. The software with perfect stereo display effect works well on a desk VR system common computer.The running result shows that the technique and developing method, which are applied in the research, are feasible. The research work in the paper is meaningful to shorten the product development cycle, improve the design quality and reduce the development cost.
