Distributed And Heterogeneous Data Integration And Its Applications, On The Campus Card Project

The process of digital campus endows campus card system with new responsibilities.Activity modes and orientation of teachers and students are beneath the great mount of data generated from campus card system.As a trailblazer in new campus card applications,university effectively integrates card system into the digital campus frame.Therefore,the study of data mining based on data integration becomes practical and attractive:valuable information and knowledge will be distilled,and then applied in the decision supporting field.This thesis introduces the study details.The study in data process technology and decision supporting theory makes the first step.Experience from system construction and operation also helps to find the two practical modes of data integration.After the successful data integration,research focus shifts to data analysis that from different views and dimensions.Finally,the possibility,the practicability and the mutuality of building a comprehensive decision supporting system is under discussion.In the process of data integration and data mining,models such as linear regression,sorting comparison,clustering is used in the experiments.And the result is rather encouraging;a lot of valuable information is gathered.For example,analysis to the operational data of transfer system helps to strengthen the system administrator's ability to forecast;consumption fee comparison between different kinds of students provides reliable reference to department of student management.Base on the good result,a rough decision support system is set up.Managers in different level can use this system to generate information which meets their variable needs.The brand-new application breaks up the traditional concept that campus card is only the service provider of campus consumption and identity authentication,re-orientates the system as the fundamental information provider of university.With the data mining applied widely in scope,deeply in depth,the decision support system will become more and more powerful,and play a key role in the university's daily management.
