| With the software development technology and the rapid development of economic globalization, in order to meet the needs of the open market, the demand for software development productivity raise higher and higher. Some foreign software companies adopt a new project management method, to provide a quick, light way of thinking, and easily resolve a number of problems that the traditional software development methods are not able to fix well. In traditional software development, the core concept is to divide design and construction into two processes separately. And all the developers will design their imagination as a way to use a chart to describe the results of the process. In fact, the changing will continue to happen during the software project development, which causes a fundamental change of the predictability in traditional methods. Now that, the occurrence of change can not be avoided, then it is required to find a new way of development, be able to more effectively adapt to these changes. That is the Agile Project Management (APM) and agile product development aims to achieve.The main objective of this thesis is to study how China software companies to leverage Agile Project Management from both theoretical and practical research perspectives. First of all, this thesis briefly introduces the traditional project management method and identifies its shortcomings. Then by comparing with agile project management method, to propose Agile Project Management framework and guiding principles. Furthermore, elaborate the on-line ordering system development project as one case-study to discuss how agile project management model is being practiced in real software development project, and quantitatively measure the project performance as well as providing the analysis in terms of productivity, schedule, cost, and quality to prove the feasible and high effective of agile project management, which aid to improve project delivery rate and quality. |
