Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is composed of sensor nodes with the functions of perceptual information, data processing and wireless communications, these nodes do their jobs through the self-organizing, collaborative manner. WSN is a new network technologies dealing with information access and process that can be widely used in disaster rescue, environmental protection, medicine, military, security, industrial production, and space exploration etc. Therefore, the people in academia and industry pay more attention to it. With the addition of multimedia sensors, the network become more powerfully. However, the energy problems which become one of the key WSN researches limit its widely applications in future. Compressing redundant information by the data fusion technology can be used to reduce power consumption. Combined with sensors'detect regional coherence, sensor energy consumption model and routing algorithm, this paper research the data fusion technology. The research aspects in this paper are as the follows:1) Through the significance of research, actuality of the study, development of key techniques and some applications, etc, we get introduction of wireless multimedia sensor networks.2) Combining of routing, analysis of wireless multimedia sensor network data fusion technology strategy. Compared of the existing mode of operation of the protocol, we propose the direction of improvement.3) From the analysis of energy consumption model of sensor nodes, focus the consumption after the multi-media integration of sensor, further analysis of the effectiveness and feasibility of relevant regions of sensor fusion. Finally, the combined the model of data fusion and transformation, we design of the algorithm of regional decision-making based on the coherent integration of data routing. After the simulation tests, it can be concluded: the algorithm less the overall energy consumption, extend the life of the network to good effect.4) In accordance with the application requirements of the wireless multimedia sensor networks, we compare the main platforms, and then decide to design the simulation platform on which we can do lots of experimentation and validation works to test the performance of algorithms on our own. After analysis the requirement of the platform, we design and complete the system. In fact, it works well.
