PCB Opto-electronic Hole Checker is a kind of AOI(Automated Optical Inspection) system which is used for the full automatic detecting of printed circuit board's hole Information. Besides hole count check and aperture measurement, the defects including excessive holes, lack of holes, size of holes and whether there are foreign matters in the holes can also be detected by this equipment.This dissertation focuses on PCB Opto-electronic Hole Checker, intensive research on the software design and the detecting algorithms of this system is presented. The main contents are as follows:1. The analysis is based on the principle and configuration of the system. The image acquisition unit and LED illumination unit are also illustrated.2. The image processing algorithm of hole inspection is analyzed synthetically in all its aspects such as segmentation, mark, edge tracking, extraction of characteristic, image registration, etc. And a series of optimum algorithm has been proposed to realize the great data's detecting in real time. And a feature matching method based on point features and orientated hole features has been proposed to realize the image registration.3. Combined with system features, the system software design is implemented. Include the image obtaining, image processing, hardware control, data manage and interface.The prototype machine has been fabricated, and it works quite well. Based on the results of machine test and feedback of customer, this system has already achieved the high level, Compared with congener machine made by some well-known Overseas company, this system even reaches the advanced standard in some respects. There are not similar products related reports at home.
