CDMA2000 Base Transceiver Station (BTS) system is a kind of communication system that has complex structure and powerful function. It is divided into hardware architecture and software system. Due to the universality and dispersion of the geographical distribution of the Base Station Transceiver System, the stability and robustness of the base station software system is extremely important in the communication network.CDMA2000 BTS software is a large-scale distributted and embedded system that runs on the Base Transceiver Station and uses embedded real-time operating system VxWorks as platform. So the idea of hierarchical design is adoptted to realize the overall framework of the software. CDMA2000 BTS software is divided into several major subsystems, and Board Support Package (BSP) subsystem locates in the bottom of the whole software. BSP derives from the idea of the irrelevance between operation system and hardware. Operating system is designed to run on virtual hardware platforms. It unpacks the hardware-related operation and provides a software platform which has nothing to do with the hareware. Therefore, the functional integrity and stability of BSP is especially important in the BTS software system.This dissertation takes Radio frequence Transmitter and Receiver(RTR) module in CDMA2000 BTS system for example to dissert the design and implemention process of VxWorks BSP.This dissertation first briefly introduces the development environment of BSP. The design plan is proposed on the basis of analyzing the principle of hardware structure of RTR in CDMA2000 BTS system.According to the function that BSP needs to achieve, BSP is divided into several modules. The implementation of each module is discussed in detail. In this dissertation, a hierarchical design method of communication HPI port between CPU and DSP is specially proposed. The interface is simplified into physical layer, link layer and application layer to reduce the complexity of the realization. Meanwhile, the reliability and scalability of the interface between CPU and DSP is also guaranteed. Therefore, the information exchange between CPU and DSP becomes better.The realization of VxWorks BSP is based on C language and a small amount of assembly language. Some of these modules codes have a certain of reusability and can be transplanted to other hardware platform. Finally, this dissertation tests some main modules of BSP and verifies its reliability.
